RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the mental health status of military healthcare workers in shelter hospitals in Shanghai during the epidemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 omicron variant and its influencing factors. Methods A total of 540 military healthcare workers in shelter hospitals in Shanghai were investigated with patient health questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), generalized anxiety disorder-7 (GAD-7) and Athens insomnia scale (AIS) to explore their mental health status, and logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results A total of 536 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective rate of 99.3% (536/540). The incidence of depression, anxiety and insomnia among military healthcare workers in shelter hospitals in Shanghai was 45.5% (244/536), 26.1% (140/536) and 59.5% (319/536), respectively. Logistic regression analysis showed that whether people resided in Shanghai, the proportion of negative information in daily browsing information and diet status in shelter hospitals were the influencing factors of depression, anxiety and insomnia (all P<0.05);age and confidence in the future of Shanghai were the influencing factors of depression and insomnia (all P<0.05);and the time spent daily on epidemic-related information was an influencing factor of insomnia (P=0.021). Conclusion The incidence of depressive, anxiety and insomnia among military healthcare workers in shelter hospitals in Shanghai is high during the epidemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 omicron variant. Psychological consequences of the epidemic should be monitored regularly and continuously to promote the mental health of military healthcare workers.Copyright © 2022, Second Military Medical University Press. RESUMEN

Since the breakout of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the global fight against influenza has begun. Various technologies have been developed to support the fast-growing contactless service market, and hence contactless services are rapidly becoming a new growth strategy. In particular, the retail service industry most urgently needs contactless service technology. A representative technical case is the self-checkout machine, which can reduce labor costs and provide customer satisfaction. We present a solution in this article. We propose a hand gesture recognition contactless self-checkout system, which is a hand gesture recognition model based on YOLOv5s. The hand gesture recognition mAP (0.5) value reaches 0.995, the mAP (0.5:0.95) value reaches 0.865, and the F1 score is 0.96, together with the accuracy and recall rate is close to 1. Compared with the excellent algorithm YOLOx-s, the FPS value of YOLOv5s can reach 123 (YOLOx-s is 108). In addition, the model can be used to detect recorded static and dynamic hand gestures in real-time. Practical results show that the YOLOv5s can effectively recognize hand gestures and realize the contactless checkout process.

Objective: To investigate and analyze the epidemiological characteristics of a cluster of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spread by a super spreader in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, and provide reference for prevention and control of COVID-19. Methods: The field epidemiological investigation was conducted to investigate the confirmed cases and close contacts;the data were analyzed with descriptive method. Chi-squared test was used to compare the differences of attack rates among close contacts. Results: A total of 23 epidemiological related cases were identified, including 20 confirmed cases and 3 asymptomatic infection cases. Thirteen (56.52%) were males, ten (43.48%) were females, and the median age was 51 years old with the range of 30 to 70 years old. The second generation case firstly developed symptoms on Jan 19th and was confirmed on Jan 30th, 2020.The first generation cases were from Wuhan and the last case was confirmed on Feb 3rd, 2020.The epidemic spread to the fifth generation with a total attack rate of 6.07% (21/346), among which the third generation case was a super spreader who directly transmitted to 12 subsequent cases with a significantly higher attack rate than other cases (27.27% vs. 2.98%, χ2=39.754, P<0.001). Conclusion: The expansion of the epidemic can be attributed to the lack of timely control of imported personnel from high risk regions, the lacking awareness of novel infectious diseases at the early stage of the epidemic and the appearance of the super spreader. To form a normalized prevention mechanism, it is necessary to improve the alertness of novel infectious diseases among medical staffs and the masses, implement prevention and control strategies in time. © 2021, Editorial Department of Fudan University Journal of Medical Sciences. RESUMEN

Acute abdomen, abdominal trauma, gastrointestinal bleeding and gastrointestinal tumors are the main conditions that are routinely treated in gastrointestinal surgery department with high incidence and critical condition. These conditions need emergency or selective operations. During the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), it's a great challenge for us to meet the patients' requirement under the situation. As the COVID-19 was brought under control in China, the Department of General Surgery in Nanfang Hospital resumed regular medical services gradually. Based on our clinical practice, the four major measures of strengthening pre-hospital screening, perioperative prevention and control, medical staff protection, and ward management were adopted. These main measures include the strict implementation of the appointment system and triage system before admission; the conduction of epidemiological and preliminary screening of viral nucleic acids; the chest CT examination during the perioperative period to re-screen COVID-19; the reduction of the risk of droplets and aerosol transmission; the minimally invasive surgery combined with enhanced recovery program in order to reduce patient's susceptibility and shorten the length of postoperative hospital stay; the reinforcement of specific infection control training for medical staff; the strict implementation of hierarchical protection; the establishment of gastrointestinal surgery prevention and control system; the rehearsal of emergency exercise; the installation of quarantine wards; the screening and management of family care-givers; the strict disinfection of environment and materials. Our preliminary practice shows that following the work guidelines issued by the Guangdong Province COVID-19 Prevention and Control Office and adopting precise management strategies in combination with the specific clinical features of gastrointestinal surgery, it is possible to safely resume regular care for the patients and comply to epidemic control at the same time.

BACKGROUND: Recent studies have focused on initial clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is the mainly revealing situation in Wuhan, Hubei. AIM: This study aims to reveal more data on the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of COVID-19 patients outside of Wuhan, Zhejiang, China. DESIGN: This study was a retrospective case series. METHODS: Eighty-eight cases of laboratory-confirmed and three cases of clinically confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to five hospitals in Zhejiang province, China. Data were collected from 20 January 2020 to 11 February 2020. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Of all 91 patients, 88 (96.70%) were laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 with throat swab samples that tested positive for SARS-Cov-2, three (3.30%) cases were clinically diagnosed. The median age of the patients was 50 (36.5-57) years, and female accounted for 59.34%. In this sample, 40 (43.96%) patients had contracted the disease from local cases, 31 (34.07%) patients had been to Wuhan/Hubei, eight (8.79%) patients had contacted with people from Wuhan, and 11 (12.09%) patients were diagnosed after having flown together in the same flight with no passenger that could later be identified as the source of infection. In particular within the city of Ningbo, 60.52% cases can be traced back to an event held in a temple. The most common symptoms were fever (71.43%), cough (60.44%) and fatigue (43.96%). The median of incubation period was 6 (interquartile range 3-8) days and the median time from the first visit to a doctor to the confirmed diagnosis was 1 (1-2) days. According to the chest computed tomography scans, 67.03% cases had bilateral pneumonia. CONCLUSIONS: Social activity cluster, family cluster and flying alongside with persons already infected with COVID-19 were how people got infected with COVID-19 in Zhejiang.
